About The Wandering Pencil – Wednesday

Think you can’t draw a stick figure? Perfect—you’re exactly who this class is for.

Discover the joy of drawing in this welcoming six-week course designed for beginners and anyone looking to strengthen their artistic foundation. The Wandering Pencil is a fun, relaxed six-week drawing course designed for complete beginners as well as those looking to strengthen their artistic foundations. No prior experience is required. Through simple, step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn the core principles artists use to create convincing drawings, including value, perspective, proportion, form, and color.

Through guided lessons and engaging projects, students will learn how artists use value, perspective, proportion, form, and color to bring their drawings to life. Each class focuses on practical techniques that help students better understand how objects occupy space, how light creates depth and dimension, and how color can enhance mood and visual impact.

The course is taught in a fun, supportive, and low-pressure environment where experimentation and creativity are encouraged. Whether you’re brand new to drawing or looking to refresh your skills, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how to see and interpret the world around you through an artist’s eyes.

Along the way, you’ll discover that drawing isn’t a talent you’re born with—it’s a skill that can be learned. In a supportive, encouraging environment, we’ll break complex concepts into manageable lessons that help you build confidence with every class.

By the end of the course, you’ll be surprised by what you’re able to create and will have the foundational skills needed to continue your artistic journey in drawing, painting, and beyond.
