About

A Season To Grow

Based on the groundbreaking and controversial play of the same name, SPRING AWAKENING follows the story of sexual awakening, self-discovery, and youthful revolt through the eyes of a group of teenagers in 1891 Germany. The adults have all the answers. Headstrong Melchior and naïve Wendla have fallen into each other’s paths, and arms, with passion, tenderness, and curiosity. Their friend Moritz is struggling to live up to the strict expectations of their society, with only each for guidance, these young men and women must travel the confusing, and frequently terrifying, path of adolescence – discovering their bodies, their minds, and themselves along the way.

SPRING AWAKENING is a vibrant celebration of youth and rebellion, bringing together the issues of morality and sexuality and rock and roll into an emotional powerhouse of a show.

WHY SEE THIS SHOW?

SPRING AWAKENING is an electrifying musical that asks audiences to journey through the trails and challenges of adolescence, to explore the mysteries of attraction, desire, sex, insecurity, and the highs and lows of navigating the pressures of young adult life set against the back drop of a contemporary rock score. SPRING AWAKENING is a poignant and thrilling show that resonates with audiences of all ages.

WHO IS THIS SHOW FOR?

Audiences have loved our contemporary shows from THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE to CONSTELLATIONS and SWEAT, to the rocking music of ROCKY HORROR and MISS YOU LIKE HELL and those kind of intense, intimate, and unexpected stories are exactly in line with the power of Spring Awakening!

CONTENT ADVISORY

Spring Awakening is a world wherein several tough subjects are explored. While this production will endeavor to handle these subjects with great care, please be advised: this play contains moments of violence, sexual assault, simulated sex, suicide, child abuse, bullying, teen pregnancy, and death.
