Every first Friday, we hold an Opening Reception for a local artist whose artwork is on display in the Reeves House Education Studio.
Come meet the artist behind the artwork on display while sipping a glass of wine and swaying to some live music at the Opening Reception.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Heather Stevens is a local clay artist that loves exploring a variety of hand building techniques. This gallery is a departure from her typical functional-ware and focuses on examining one’s self and emotions through unique clay pieces. She urges the viewer to think on the many aspects of self that are represented —from an armored shield to a fragile water girl shifting with the tides. A mirror installation invites the viewer to choose which feelings they are holding, remembering that our emotions are vast and complex. A blank mirror invites you to pause on your own experience. She invites you to slow down and remember the importance of self reflection, being present, and the healing power that art can hold. She is the manager of the Kish Studio for Pottery and Ceramics at Woodstock Arts and loves teaching Clay Community hand building classes!
