About
Step out of the lecture hall and into the inner sanctum of creativity—Faculty Lounge is where chalkboard wisdom meets practiced hand, and the quiet architects of tomorrow’s artists reveal their own powerful, personal work. Curated by Beth Wilson, fine arts specialist at Coca-Cola, this exhibition brings the studio to the spotlight and honors the professors who have spent their careers shaping minds instead of chasing the limelight.
This is a rare glimpse into the private practices of some of metro Atlanta’s most accomplished faculty—artists whose own canvases, sculptures, and mixed media works often take a backseat to syllabi, critiques, and office hours. Faculty Lounge asks: What happens when the teachers teach themselves again? What unfolds when creative expression no longer serves a curriculum, but a calling?
From abstract investigations to intimate studies in form, from philosophical technique to expressive instinct, these works showcase the full spectrum of academic artistry—refined, restless, and undeniably relevant. While their legacy may live on in their students, this exhibit brings the focus back to the source: the makers, the mentors, the masters.
Throughout the run of the exhibit, featured faculty will also step beyond the gallery walls, offering exclusive workshops and artist-led sessions that invite the public into their process. It’s a celebration of education, yes—but more so, it’s a celebration of the artists who never stopped being artists, even when the classroom called.
Class is officially dismissed. Welcome to the lounge.
Opening Night Reception: Sept 19, 2025, 6pm-8pm. Toast at 7pm.
