About Improvisational Storybuilding 2-day Intensive

Two Days of Creativity, Adventure, and Imagination

Taught by WIT’s Siobhan Brumbelow

Ever wanted to spin an epic tale on the spot? Create unforgettable characters out of thin air? Build entire stories from a single idea?

This two-day intensive is designed for storytellers, gamers, writers, performers, dungeon masters, and creative minds who want to strengthen their improvisational skills and unlock their imagination.

You’ll explore:

– Story structure without overthinking
– Turning random prompts into compelling narratives
– Collaborative storytelling techniques
– Building tension, stakes, and emotional impact
– Active listening and creative responsiveness
– Conquering the fear of “getting it wrong”
– Trusting your imagination under pressure

This intensive is designed to be welcoming, supportive, and highly interactive, creating an environment where participants can experiment, play, and develop their creative potential alongside fellow storytellers. No acting experience required—just bring your imagination and a willingness to play.

July 12th: Storytelling Unleashed

Narrative Confidence Through Improvisation

Great stories don’t start with perfect ideas—they start with bold choices.

Day One focuses on the art of spontaneous storytelling. Through interactive games and narrative challenges, participants will learn how to build engaging stories, create memorable moments, and keep an audience invested even when they have no idea what comes next.

Whether you’re a writer facing a blank page, a game master crafting adventures, or someone who simply wants to become a more confident storyteller, this workshop will give you practical tools you can use immediately.

July 19th: Characters, Worlds, and Adventure

Improvisation for Tabletop RPGs

What happens when a player asks a question you weren’t prepared for?

What if you could create a fascinating NPC, a mysterious kingdom, or an entire adventure hook in seconds?

Day Two takes the principles of improvisation and applies them directly to tabletop roleplaying games. Whether you’re a seasoned Game Master or a first-time player, you’ll learn techniques that make your games more immersive, dynamic, and memorable.

Expect imaginative exercises, character creation labs, and collaborative storytelling challenges inspired by the same skills that make great role playing sessions unforgettable.

Every great adventure begins with a single idea.
