Reports to: Theatre Education Manager & Visual Arts Education Manager

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO HERE: 

Apprentices are high school students who will assist Teaching Artists during camp hours while learning educational, classroom management, and artistic skills. They will receive classroom experience and instruction with professional Teaching Artists who will mentor and guide them throughout the summer. They will also receive constructive feedback from the Education Director throughout the summer and participate with other Apprentices in team building exercises and learning experiences.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

This is a seasonal role running from training, beginning approximately in mid-May training with camp through July 24th. Call hours for camp are generally 8:00am–5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with extended Monday evenings and minor daily schedule adjustments for setup and cleanup.

The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

The role requires standing, walking, bending, frequent use of hands, stooping, lifting, demonstrating movement for performance, and occasionally sitting on the floor with students. Some activities may be held outdoors depending on weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate.
