NEW Digital Classes this Fall!

As we navigate this time together, Elm Street is passionate about connecting through creativity and arts. That is why we have developed three NEW classes to engage our community online–and they are made to be digital, from the comfort of your own home!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • A computer or device with a webcam and microphone
  • A comfortable space in your home
  • A connection to the internet

Classes will begin the week of August 10th, 2020 and run for 6 weeks.
You can learn more about each of these classes below.

Registration can be found here: woodstockarts.org/classes

INTERACTIVE STORYBOOK CRAFT-TELLING
Grades K-2

Through the use of crafts, we will be telling familiar fairy tales and fables and creating a colorful interactive storybook together. Each week your student will be supplied with all they need to “craft-a-long” with our storytellers. By the end of the 6 weeks, your child will have created their very own interactive storybook. Craft supply kits will be made available on the Friday before class for pick-up or delivery (extra fees for shipping).

ELM STREET ACTING AGENCY

Grades 3-8

Your mission, become an agent by infiltrating the enemy base (H.O.U.S.E.) and determine their secrets for world domination. Each week is a new mission: cracking codes, creating disguises, and solving puzzles–and each class time is dedicated to “reporting” your findings to the Head ESA Agent and determining your next mission or clues. By the end of the 6 weeks, your agent will have learned the basic skills to apply to acting through creative methods. Agent supply kits will be made available on the Friday before class for pick-up or delivery (extra fees for shipping).

ZOOM ROOM: A PLAY

Grades 9-12

What if we made a play based on a Zoom Room Meeting? Well, that’s just what this class is all about. Bad connections, muted microphones, or virtual backgrounds–this originally crafted script is unlimited by the creative minds that take this course. By the end of the 6 weeks, this class will perform their play live with all the mishaps and online confusion. Show is TBD and will take place live on an unlisted YouTube link shared only with those registered.

We can’t wait to create and play with you this fall! If you have any questions, please email siobhan@elmstreetarts.org.

The Queen’s Cartoonists kick off Elm Street’s Lantern Series, 7/18

Is it possible to create jazz and classical music in the 21st century that appeals to everyone? The Queens Cartoonists answer this question with a unique mixed media concert experience, celebrating the music of cartoons.

Elm Street Cultural Arts Village will welcome The Queens Cartoonists on July 18 as the first in this summer’s Lantern Series. The group plays live music synchronized with film from the cartoons. They also incorporate humorous anecdotes and multifaceted performance elements to create a dynamic evening of entertainment for every kind of patron.
