All the Fixins: Artists from the South 2024 (Juried)

All the Fixins: Artists from the South is a juried exhibition showcasing the phenomenal artistic talent of artists living and working in the South. All the Fixins will be on view at the Reeves House Visual Arts Center in Woodstock, GA from June 6 –  August 4, 2024. Guest jurors will review artist submissions to determine which work will be shown and which artworks will receive awards.

An opening reception will take place on Thursday, June 6, 6pm-8pm, which is when award recipients will be announced. 

Awards:

  • 1st Place: $500
  • 2nd Place: $250
  • 3rd Place: $100
  • People's Choice: $100

  • Matthew Weldon Showman, Partner/Gallery Director, Ferrara Showman Gallery

Entry Fee: $35 entry fee for up to (3) submissions is non refundable. Artists are responsible for transportation and delivery of work to and from the Reeves House Visual Arts Center. Artwork will be insured while in the care of the Reeves House.

Entry Requirements: Eligible artists must be over the age of 18 and currently reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Notification: All notifications to artists will happen via email to the email address on file with the ArtCall.org system by May 20th. No phone calls. Check your spam folder. If you have not received an email, you can log in to the artcall system at any time to check the status. You should add artcall to your contacts to ensure timely delivery of ALL notifications. 

Accepted artists are responsible for all shipping costs (if applicable), or transporting their work to and from Reeves House.

Artwork Requirements:

  • Up to 3 submissions per artist
  • Only original artwork will be accepted. Works previously shown at the Reeves House may not be submitted.
  • Artwork is limited to a maximum weight of 50 lbs. Work may be no larger than 90” (including frame) in any direction.
  • Artists may not substitute another work for an accepted work, alter a work, or withdraw a work after it has been accepted.
  • All artwork must be available for sale – the artist will receive 60% of the sale price, and the Reeves House will retain 40% of all sales (after processing, taxes, or fees, if applicable). 
  • All work must be professionally presented and ready to hang/install upon delivery.
    • Hanging Hardware:
      • Accepted: Wire, D-rings, cleats
      • WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED: sawtooth hangers, plastic frames, clip style frames (most of the hardware that comes on store bought frames is not acceptable)
    • Works on paper and photographs must be framed and protected under glass, plexiglass, or other protective covering. 
    • Gallery wrapped canvas or wood panel is acceptable without a frame.
    • Wall hanging fabric works will need to include a hanging device, such as a casing sewn with a dowel or rod included.
    • Video works should not exceed 5 minutes in length and should be a .mov or a .mp4 file.
    • Sculptural work and freestanding pieces must be installation ready. Artists may be called to assist with installation.

May 20: Notification Sent to Accepted Artists

May 20 - May 30: Artwork must be hand delivered or shipped within this date range 

June 1: Artwork must be at the gallery by this date

June 6: Opening Reception/Award Ceremony (6pm-8pm)

August 5-7: Artwork Pick-up (Between 11am-6pm)

August 15-20: Shipped Artwork Returned

About the Reeves House: The Reeves House Visual Arts Center is the visual arts division of Woodstock Arts, a non-profit 4-acre multi-disciplinary arts complex established in 2002, that includes a performing arts center, an outdoor music venue, an open-air sculpture garden, and classrooms for expansive educational programs. The Reeves House Visual Arts Center, first opened in May 2021, boasts an expansive open-plan exhibition space, a large education studio for art classes, and a coffee shop/wine bar. Our art exhibits rotate every 8 weeks and feature a wide variety of compelling art from local, national, and international artists, combined with robust public programming.
