About

Dial M for Murder –

After marrying his wife Margot for her money, Tony is convinced that she’s having an affair – but as the affair comes to an end Tony weaves a web of suspicion, deception, and betrayal that draws their world in tighter and leads to danger and yes – murder. Adapted from the play that inspired the classic Hitchcock crime thriller by Jeffrey Hatcher (TV’s Columbo), this edge-of-your-seat-hold-your-breath crime thriller is sure to intrigue and delight audiences.

Rehearsals – Rehearsals will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, within the range of  6 p.m – 10 p.m.

First Rehearsal – June 25th

Saturday, 9 a.m – 5 p.m Rehearsal – August 3rd (potential to change)

Q2Q – August 10th (potential to change)

Tech Week – August 12th – 15th

Performances – August 16th – September 1st

PREPARATION

Auditions will be in-person on  Sunday, June 9th from 6 p.m – 10 p.m.

Video audition submissions will be accepted until Sunday the 9th at 9:00 pm. You can send your Video Submission to zach@woodstockarts.org. Please Slate before your video audition. (NOTE: you will still need to fill out the online audition form along with a video submission.) 

Information about callbacks will be emailed separately, should you be called back, those will beheld on Wednesday, June 12th, within the time period of 6 p.m – 10 p.m.

Dial M for Murder Character Breakdown – 

Margot Wendice (Female, British, Any Ethnicity, 25+) Charming, Naive, Wealthy wife of Tony, has an affair with Maxine, 30s – 40s, Any Ethnicity

Maxine Hadley (Female, American, Any Ethnicity, 25+) Murder mystery writer, has an affair with Margot, works with Tony.

Tony Wendice (Male, British, Any Ethnicity 25+) Married Margot for money, creates elaborate plot to murder Margot, incredibly smart.

Lesgate (Male, British, Any Ethnicity 25+): An old schoolmate of Tony, convicted criminal, blackmailed into helping Tony with his murder plot.

Inspector Hubbard (British, 25+ Any Ethnicity) A British Inspector of Police, Head of investigation after murder attempt against Margot.
