The Legend of Georgia McBride –
Casey is young, he’s broke, his landlord’s knocking at the door, and he just found out his wife is going to have a baby. Making things worse, Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator at run-down, sink-hole Florida bar and replaced by a B-level drag show, but when one of the queens can’t go on, Casey steps into the spotlight.

Character Breakdown –
Casey – Male. 20s. White – A charismatic young man struggling to support himself and his wife, Jo, as an Elivs impersonator. Good-natured but with a tendency to act without thinking. During the course of the show, he discovers his hidden talent for performing in drag as Georgia McBride.
Jo – Female. 20s. Black – A practical young woman who often struggles to keep herself and her husband, Casey, afloat when his lack of forethought impacts their finances. A hard worker and realist. During the course of the show, she reveals to Casey that she is pregnant and that they are going to be parents.
Tracy Mills – Any Gender. 30s-50s (Flexible). Any race/ethnicity – Tracy is an elegant and seasoned drag queen. Professional, inventive, and quick-thinking. They can make a silk purse out of even the crummiest situation. They go by Bobby when not in a dress.
Jason / Rexy – Any Gender. 30s(Flexible). Any race/ethnicity, but ideally POC – This is a dual role. Jason is Casey and Jo’s landlord. Goofy, well-meaning. They struggle a little bit to “crack the whip” when Casey and Jo are late on rent due to their close friendship with Casey. Rexy is one of the drag performers that comes in to replace Casey’s Elvis act. A little bit of a hot mess; they are deeply proud of who they are, where they come from, and what drag means to them.
Eddie – Male. 50s (Flexible). Any race/ethnicity- The owner of the bar Cleo’s, the struggling dive bar with few customers, where Casey works. A little hot-headed and desperate to make his business a success. His business-first attitude belies a softer and more caring nature. He is also Tracy’s family and brings Tracy’s act in when he decides to cut Casey’s Elvis Impersonator show.
