Kish Center for Ceramics and Pottery
Come and join emerging artist Allie Benoit for a fun filled experience learning how to slab build pottery! Students will learn how to build with clay slabs that students can decorate however they want. There will be guided projects/themes that allow students opportunity to learn the slab method with room for experimenting with various decorating techniques but there is no right or wrong way to complete the assignment as long as each student is happy with their artwork. Students will make a variety of forms, some examples of the projects will be: Mugs/cups, Luminaries/candle holders, bowls, etc. (Projects and themes are subject to change based on students interest and student abilities) Each project/theme will use 2 classes: 1 class for building, 1 class for decorating.
Supplies Provided but you may bring in stencils, fabrics/textures, or cookie cutters that you would like to use on your creations!
