ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Woodstock Arts has a mission to engage the community with relevant art experiences every day.
We offer theater and visual arts camps to students ages 5-15. Theater camps prepare a musical in 5 days complete with costumes and tech to perform on Friday. Visual Arts camps draw, paint, sculpt and create to prepare an exhibit to present to parents on Friday. All positions will receive a stipend. Our camp counselors are our students’ guides on their first experiences in the theatre and art. It is their role as counselors to create a fun, welcoming and supportive environment for students to learn through hands-on camps. Counselors work with leads to execute a planned curriculum. This position reports to, and works closely with the Lead Tech and Support Counselor and the Theatre and Visual Arts Education Managers.
Job Responsibilities:
Get to know the building and maintain the safety of your students
Arrive before camp to prepare materials and check in students.
Prepare and execute weekly objectives and curriculum alongside the Lead Counselors.
Lead students in games and activities, and exercises to deepen their understanding of the content.
Develop, with Lead Counselor and Campers, story for performance, write and record parody lyrics for each show.
Direct and choreograph student performance as assigned by the lead counselor, with attention to students’ ages, abilities, and skill levels.
Lead Art lessons and activities as assigned by the Lead Counselor
Use appropriate techniques to manage classroom behavior.
Pull any needed materials from our supply and put them away properly.
Keep materials clean and organized.
Communicate progress and needs with Lead Counselors and Education Managers.
Return camp space to neutral before leaving each day.
Other duties as assigned
A detailed training schedule will be made available upon hire.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully clear a Georgia Background Check for working with children.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents
Focus and time management skills in keeping the camp on track to complete their learning objectives
A patient and warm demeanor while working with children
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Theatre and/or Visual Arts experience preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred.Â
Teaching or Childcare experience Preferred

Lead Counselors pull on their own experience to personalize curriculum based on our existing class structures and objectives. Lead Counselors will manage a team of counselors and Counselors in Training (CITS). This position reports to and works closely with the Theatre Education Manager and the Visual Arts Education Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Get to know the building and maintain the safety of your students.
Arrive at 8:00am to prepare materials and check in students.
Prepare and execute, alongside Theatre Education Manager and Visual Arts Education Manager, weekly objectives and curriculum.
Work with the other camp leads to create and keep a schedule of space usage.
Lead students in games, theatre activities, and exercises to deepen their understanding of content.
Guide story development with counselors and campers and write each week’s script.
Direct the production of each weekly musical, including the teaching or delegation of the following elements: blocking, choreography, costumes, props, and set.
Prepare and teach short lessons about the play production process.
Coordinate technical needs and notes with the Lead Tech and Support Counselor.
Use appropriate techniques to manage classroom behavior.
Pull any needed materials from our supply and put them away properly.
Keep materials clean and organized.
Communicate progress and needs with Education Managers.
Return classroom space to neutral before leaving each day.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully clear a Georgia Background Check for working with children.
Be proficient in the field of the respective camp.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Theatre experience required
High School Diploma/Or equivalent preferred
Teaching or Childcare experience required

It is their role as lead counselors to create a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment for students to learn through exciting hands-on art experiences. Lead Counselors pull on their own experience to personalize lessons based on our existing curriculum. They will lead campers in activities and projects throughout the week. Lead Art Counselors will ensure that high quality work is created and collected throughout the work to be displayed in a gallery exhibit each Friday. Lead Counselors will manage a team of counselors and Counselors in Training (CITS). This position reports to and works closely with the Visual Arts Education Manager and the Theatre Education Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute, alongside Visual Arts Education Manager and Theatre Education Manager, weekly objectives, and curriculum, schedule and overall efficiency and flow.
Work with the other camp leads to keep a schedule of space usage.
Lead students in games, art activities, and exercises to deepen their understanding of content.
Prepare and teach art and crafts projects and activitiesÂ
Use appropriate techniques to manage classroom behavior.
Create a fun and exciting learning atmosphere
Pull any needed materials from our supply and put them away properly.
Keep materials clean and organized.
Communicate progress and needs with Education Managers.
Return classroom space to neutral before leaving each day.

The Lead Tech and Support Counselor works behind the scenes to keep camp operations running smooth. It is their role as support to create a welcoming and supportive environment for students to learn by providing the sound and light for theater camps, assist with setting up materials and spaces for campers, and coordinating coverage for other counselors from the Support Counselors and Counselors in Training (CITs). This position reports to, and works closely with the Theatre Education Manager and Visual Arts Education Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Get to know the building and maintain the safety of your students
Arrive at 8:00 to prepare materials and check in students.
Consult with the other camp leads to create and keep a schedule of space usage and needs for Support Counselors and Counselors in Training.
Manage the recording and production of music tracks for each show.
Lead your team in the preparation and execution of light and sound cues for the camp shows each week.
Assist Lead Theatre Counselors in coordinating pulling any needed set pieces or props from our supply and put them away properly.
Coordinate in set up and cleanup for snack, and lunch.
Assist Lead Art Counselors in coordinating set up and cleanup for art activities such as cutting clay, pouring paint, setting up and taking down tables, and cleaning supplies.
Communicate progress and needs with Lead Counselors and Education Managers.
Return camp space to neutral before leaving each day.
Other duties as assigned.

Tech and Support counselors work behind the scenes to keep camp operations running smooth. It is their role as support to create a fun, welcoming and supportive environment for students to learn by providing the sound and light for theater camps, assist with setting up materials and spaces for campers, and rotating to provide coverage for other counselors . Tech and Support Counselors work with leads to execute tech, plan coverage, and set up spaces and activities for campers. This position reports to and works closely with the Theatre Education Manager and Visual Arts Education Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Arrive at 8:00 to prepare materials and check in students.
Design and execute light and sound cues.
Assist in pulling costumes and set pieces for camp performances.
Assist in set up and cleanup for snack, and lunch.
Assist in set up and cleanup for art activities such as cutting clay, pouring paint, setting up and taking down tables, and cleaning supplies.
Step into various other camps to provide breaks for other counselors.
Use appropriate techniques to manage classroom behavior.
Pull any needed materials from our supply and put them away properly.
Communicate progress and needs with Lead Counselors and Education Managers.
Return camp space to neutral before leaving each day.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully clear a Georgia Background Check for working with children.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Technical Theatre experience preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES

A basic understanding of the theatrical lighting and sound systems.
CONTRACT PERIOD
Summer Camp runs for 7 weeks, starting June 2nd and ending July 26th. There will be no camp the week of July 4th. Training for Lead Counselors will begin on May 16th and continue for all other counselors on May 20th

WORK SCHEDULE
Hours during camp are 8:00am-5:30pm. Some positions will have varying hours within this time slot. Some positions will have post camp hours on Monday. No position will require more than 50 hours in a week. All positions are stipended.
