JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking Volunteer Summer Camp Counselors in Training for our 2024 Summer Camps.
Our Summer Camp CITs assist in the daily running of camp. CITs will gain experience in different aspects of camp. They will provide support to counselors with campers as well as behind the scenes including assisting with games and activities, assist backstage, set up and clean up spaces after activities, and other duties as assigned
CONTRACT PERIOD
Summer camp will begin the week June 2nd and run through July 26th. There will be no camp the week of July 4th. Training for CITs will begin May 28th.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Get to know the building and maintain the safety of your students.
Assist counselors to prepare materials and check in students.
Assist Counselors with games, activities, and lessons.
Use appropriate techniques to help manage classroom behavior.
Assist on pulling any needed materials from our supply and put them away properly.
Communicate progress and needs with Education Managers.
Set up for and cleanup after lunch, snack, and art activities.
Other duties as assigned
WORK SCHEDULE
Hours during camp are 8:00am-5:30pm.
CITs may work full or partial hours dependent on need and availability.
A detailed training schedule will be made available upon hire.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully clear a Georgia Background Check for working with children.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Visual Arts or Theater experience encouraged
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and parents
A patient and warm demeanor while working with children
A can do attitude and willingness to help others.

Standing, walking, bending, frequent use of hands, stooping, and lifting are needed. Depending upon the class, demonstrating movement for performance and sitting on the floor. Some activities will be outdoors dependent on weather.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
